Museum housing works dedicated to Jacques Cartier, the 16th century, the Great Discoveries, the Amerindians...

After his travels in Canada, Jacques Cartier settled in the Limoëlou manor in Rothéneuf. Now a museum and the only legacy of this explorer born in Saint-Malo, it pays tribute to this discoverer of Canada. Temporary exhibitions, projections, adventure books for children are offered as well as animations around the tale or travel stories. In the bookstore, you will discover French and Canadian editions as well as works dedicated to Jacques Cartier. A nice visit to understand the great discoveries!

Excellent guided tour of just over an hour. Interesting history of the man who discovered Canada, how they used to live in those days and also how they counted time & navigated before clocks & GPS were invented.
