ALET CITY
A superb town to discover the remains of the Roman fortified town and the cathedral of Saint-Pierre d'Alet.
This was the site of Alet, the ancient capital of the Coriosolites in the 1st century BC. This peninsula on the banks of the Rance is the ancient cradle of Saint-Malo, where the first inhabitants lived before migrating to the present-day inner city in the 12th century. It boasts one of the finest views of the Emerald Coast. As well as the remains of the Roman era and the Saint-Pierre d'Alet cathedral, there are also traces of the Second World War, including 32 blockhouses. Visit the WWII memorial and enjoy the campsite.
