These sculpted rocks are atypical and exceptional works, inspired by the Rothéneuf, a family of fearsome privateers.
In Rothéneuf, the monumental work of Abbé Fouré (1839-1910) comprises 300 sculptures inspired by the legends of Rothéneuf, a family of feared privateers. They were created by the man who hammered, shaped and sculpted the rocks for almost 15 years. You'll be captivated by these fantastic characters with their frightening grins, extraordinary sea monsters and mythical animals. An enchanted and unforgettable walk on the rocks.

Beautiful place with great views. The entrance was 5€ and you get a brochure with information on the site, which explains its origin and more of the man behind this work. They have a small gift shop too. You have further information inside and nice wooden benches to rest and enjoy the view. Feel free to take a snack with you. The whole visit can last around 30 minutes. The place offers lovely views of the sea and the surroundings. It wasn’t crowded when I visited, which was during the afternoon.
