La Varde : nestled in the hollow of a cliff, it is a bit windy in summer because the east winds blow in. It can be pleasant during hot weather.
Le Havre : this natural harbour opens to the sea through the gully between the tip of Rothéneuf and the Besnard island. Called the "Swiss Lake" in the good old days, this beach protected from the prevailing winds is a very popular place for swimming. But you have to wait for the high tide... Otherwise, fishing on foot is not bad either!
