Church retracing the great 1910 procession of the Newfoundlanders who went in procession, barefoot and in shirtsleeves to Saint-Suliac
Built in the 13th century, the Church of the Ligueurs has retained its enclosure. Its sumptuous stained-glass windows depict the great Newfoundland procession of 1910. They went in procession, barefoot and shirtless, to Saint-Jouan-des-Guêrets to thank the Virgin Mary for protecting them. Today, the church is listed as a Monument Historique, with its bell tower, porch dating from 1912 and surrounding cemetery dating from 1942. Here, the souls of the terre-neuvas and those who perished at sea reign. A promontory offering a superb view of the open sea.

Beautiful typical village in Island and Unpleasant. It is necessary to stroll and even to get lost in the countless alleys. Discovered numerous small granite houses and flowers. Some are decorated aves with fishing nets… Visit the church with superb stained-glass windows. Not too many people. To finish on the banks of the Rance while admiring the landscape and the activity on water.
