THE CASTLE OF THE ROUERIE
Chateau with magnificent parklands in two different styles and a wildlife park.
Château de la Rouërie dates back to the 18th century and is listed as a Monument Historique. The Marquis de Fougères Charles-Armand Tuffin de La Rouërie grew up here. He was a hero of the American War of Independence, devoted to Brittany and King Louis XVI. You'll discover a magnificent park laid out in two different styles (French garden to the east and English garden to the west), as well as an animal park with a sheepfold where the most beautiful breeds of sheep in the world graze (Holland, England...). Allow one to two hours for the walk.
