It dates back to the 13th and 14th centuries. The cross is placed in front of an old well that seems to be from the same period. The place known as La croix du Cerf, nowadays La Corne du Cerf was, in the Middle Ages, located at the crossroads of the roads from Nantes to Vannes and Guerno. A large inn was used as a post office relay. In the 19th century, a customs office controlled in particular the traffic of salt from Guérande through the port of Vieille-Roche.
