CHAPELLE DU SAINT ESPRIT
The Chapelle du Saint-Esprit is an ancient Catholic chapel in the commune of Auray, Morbihan. It is dedicated to the Holy Spirit. The chapel is said to have been founded by the Duke of Brittany, Jean II, in the 13th century. It was restored to its original appearance in 1994. During the summer season, the chapel hosts an annual exhibition of contemporary art. Architects distinguish two construction phases: the eastern part (choir) in the 13th century, and the western part (nave) in the 14th century. After the French Revolution, the chapel was used as a military barracks. The Chapelle du Saint-Esprit is located at 1 Rue du Four Mollet, 56400 Auray.
