The Sainte-Anne d'Auray national necropolis (1959) houses the remains of French soldiers who fell in the wars of 1870-1871, the two world wars and the Indochina war. It also houses the remains of Normandy and Belgian soldiers from the First World War. With over 2,100 graves, it commemorates the sacrifices of soldiers and civilian victims of the wars, including members of the Special Air Service and members of the Resistance who were shot.
