THE FIELD OF MARTYRS
In 1364, on the plateau, the battle of Auray took place, recalled by a modest cross called "Croix de Charles de Blois". In 1795, there were shot and chouans who wanted to re-establish the monarchy. They were buried on site and then were deposited in 1814 just a few hundred metres away, in the Sacrifice Sacrifice chapel. The Martyrs Champ paddock was constructed in a votive chapel in the neoclassical style. Two inscriptions are made there "Manu Cecide runt" (Here they fell) and "In Memoria Eterna Erunt Justi" (In eternal memory they will be fair).
