STATUE OF LIBERTY
Statue erected in memory of Maréchal des Logis Joseph Pobéguin, member of the Flatters trans-Saharan mission
It is in memory of the marshal of the Logis Joseph Pobéguin, member of the trans-Saharan mission Flatters, that was erected this bronze statue, on the place which bears his name, in Cléguérec. It is a faithful reproduction, in a small scale model, of the famous Statue of Liberty of New York in the United States of America. It was cast in 1875 by the foundry Avoiron, then registered in Washington in 1876 to validate its status as a true copy, and finally inaugurated in 1882. Today the statue is enthroned in the center of a fountain.
