Château de Concoret with park, lake, palace and bookshop, hosting a major show and entertainment program.
The Centre de l'Imaginaire Arthurien has been located in the Château de Comper for over 30 years. It's the ideal place to discover Brocéliande and all the richness of the Arthurian story. Stroll through the remains of this 13th-century stronghold. The rooms are dedicated to the vast Arthurian universe, with a permanent exhibition space and temporary exhibitions. You'll also appreciate the château's park (accessible by stroller), which stretches along the shores of Lac de Viviane: come and see the famous Merlin oak, look in the lake for the crystal palace built by Merlin the Enchanter, walk along the banks and finish with the alley planted with centuries-old yew trees. Each year, a rich program of events is organized. Highlights include King Arthur's Pentecost, Rencontres de l'Imaginaire, the medieval market, the Grand Spectacle in August and the Three Nights of Samain on All Saints' Day. The Centre de l'Imaginaire Arthurien offers a wealth of news and events on its website and Facebook page.
Off-season: in autumn and winter, when the château is closed, the Centre de l'Imaginaire Arthurien takes up residence at the Petite Maison des Légendes, in the nearby village of Concoret. The venue is a bookshop specializing in Arthurian myths and traditional tales. It offers regular events, such as a small Christmas book fair and storytelling evenings.
