The Porh-Puns fort, built on a rocky outcrop in Gâvres, is now managed by the Syndicat Mixte du Grand Site Gâvres Quiberon. A testament to centuries of defense, it once protected Port-Louis and the Compagnie des Indes. Remodeled as artillery technology advanced, its complex architecture reflects more than two centuries of military history. Partly open to the public, its exteriors offer a breathtaking view of Lorient harbor and the island of Groix, while guided tours allow visitors to explore its interiors.
