THIRTY COLUMN
The Combat des Trente obelisk, a powerful commemoration of a medieval battle in Brittany.
Discover this 13 m high obelisk, placed in its green setting, as if in the middle of nowhere. It celebrates the Battle of the Thirty, hence its name. Placed in this former battlefield since 1823 and composed of granite blocks, it commemorates an epic battle of the War of Succession in Brittany. This took place on Saturday, March 23, 1351 and pitted Blois en résidence supporters against Josselin, and supported by France, against Montfort supporters who were in Ploërmel and supported by England. The Josselinais won the battle.
