Open 7/7 all year round. Annual closure mid-January to early February. Menus €16-39, including a vegetarian menu. Children's menu: €11. A la carte menu: approx. €20. Adjacent delicatessen (L'esprit gourmet) - selection of local products and attractive gift boxes.
Owner's Message
La Petite Tonnelle is above all the story of Alain Lespinasse, a native of Sarlat.
For almost 20 years now, Alain has been welcoming you to his restaurant at the foot of the Château de Beynac, where you'll find all the authenticity of Périgord's past, through a cuisine as generous as its owner's, homemade from starter to dessert.
All revisited and created by our Chef Jonathan, to sublimate and enhance the flavors of the land of yesteryear, so dear to Alain's heart.
Our restaurant welcomes you all year round, under the vine in the shade of our little arbour, or in our troglodyte room, built into the same rock, our team welcomes you for lunch and dinner, all year round.
Whether you're just passing through or are a regular guest, alone or in a group, for a simple lunch or a special occasion, we'll give you the experience you've come to expect.

I was seated alone, upstairs, in a corner. I could hear people on the main level talking, eating, enjoying. I don't understand why I wasn't allowed to enjoy the main dining room also.
Le verre de vin blanc was terrible..worse than the cheapest wines to be found in the States. Like vinegar.
The food was not of good quality.
The mushrooms had dirt or sand in them. The other vegetables were from a frozen grocery store bag. The duck leg had no seasoning and no sauce.
I have visited many parts of France in my life, so I am well-versed in French dining at most levels.
I spoke to them in French, I asked if it was too late for lunch, and I ate quickly. I tried my best; I never want to be the ugly American, but in many visits to France, this was the first time I desperately wanted to leave during l'entrée and go someplace else.
Nous le signalons on nous dit qu'ici le confit n'est pas en boîte et que c'est pour ça que nous ne le trouvons pas bon... Nous faisons nos confits maisons depuis des années et n'avons jamais mangé de confits en boîte..
Nous demandons 2 cafés 1 seul servi... Bref. Cet endroit a bien changé et cela est dommage car il y a du potentiel à la base.
