BERNESE TIDE MILL
This is one of the few mills in France that still operates as it did in those days.
In the north-west of the island, it's impossible to miss this emblematic 16th-century tide mill. Thanks to 6 years of restoration work by volunteers, the Berno Tide Mill is back in operation. With the help of the association, the mill, abandoned since the turn of the century, has been restored to its former glory. Along with the one on the island of Bréhat, it is one of the only mills in France to operate as it did in its day, with a retaining dike, wheel and mechanism powered by the tide. Visits must be booked in advance and on certain dates.
