La Gacilly's artisans are renowned throughout the country. Galleries, boutiques and craft stalls intermingle in the village's pretty cobbled streets. For over 40 years, La Gacilly has been known as a "Ville et Métiers d'art" (Town and Crafts), where some 30 craftspeople share their know-how. They work in leather, glass, clay, metal and wood. But it's photography which, between July and October, takes center stage at a free open-air photo festival. With a worldwide reputation, it's one of the biggest in Europe!
