PEN SWAMP IN TOUL
The marsh of Pen is the largest marsh in the west of the Gulf of Morbihan
The marsh of Pen en Toul is an exceptional natural site: it is the largest marsh in the west of the Gulf of Morbihan, a privileged place for migratory birds. Formerly an arm of the sea dyked to become a salt marsh, it became a protected area at the end of the 1990s. The site covers 42.2 hectares and is home to some 40 different species of birds and as many species of butterflies. A 3.5 km path leads around the site, discreetly for its inhabitants, and with all due respect to them.
