THE STELE OF PEN-ER-PONT
Listed as UNESCO historical monument since March 28th, 1935, the Pen-er-Pont stele setup near a vestige from the feudal era: the Prostlom cross or Men-er-Menah. It is a 2-meter high granite stele in the shape of a truncated cone dating from the Gallic period. It was Christianised in the eleventh century, as proven by the cross and the inscription engraved on the stone: Crouxx Prostlon. This name undoubtedly refers to the wife of the count of Vannes, Pascueten, who reigned at that time. The whole is one of the oldest monuments listed in Brittany.
