LES BAUX DE CAULNES
A little-known site on the outskirts of Ploërmel, offering an elevated walk along a wooden path mounted on stilts.
Les Baux de Caulnes is a little-known site in the surroundings of Ploërmel, if not by nature lovers and fishermen. You can discover it by hiking 17 km around the Duke's Lake, but it is also accessible a few hundred metres from the greenway, starting from the charming and bucolic village of Loyat. The space being protected, the walk is done in height, on a wooden path mounted on stilts. The wetland - because that's what it is - extends over 27 hectares and discovers rare plants and a rich fauna of amphibians, birds and mammals such as otters (for the luckiest) or coyotes. Smart little tip: the ride is even more pleasant in the fall!
