In the hamlet of Kerio, Claire and Thomas, ecologist and beekeeper, offer a unique holiday experience in France, combining unusual accommodation and educational beehives. It all starts with their passion for bees, which they show around their organic honey factory, and then little by little, strange nests are set up in their wooded park. Like the tiny "Ty Gwenan", an ecological house in the shape of a beehive that houses a swarm of bees... in the living room! The couple have many surprises in store for you, for a rejuvenating stay at the heart of the living world.

TY GWENAN
The tiny house Ty Gwenan designed by the local company Ty Rodoù, is an unusual hive-shaped accommodation of 13.50m². Its particularity: it hosts a swarm of bees that you can observe through the windows of their hive located in the living room! This hive is completely secure, here, you will live a "unique experience", thanks to the benefits of buzzing bees! The tiny house offers on the ground floor: a living room with a kitchenette (fridge, oven, hob, sink, utensils, small appliances with kettle and coffee maker), a bathroom with shower and dry toilet, alcove with hive, and mezzanine: 4 beds (1 double bed and 2 single beds) served by a double staircase-ladder. There is also a private terrace with views of the fields and beehives.
In the accommodation are available specialized books on bees and ecology, as well as children’s books, board games for all ages, a music station (CD and USB).
Also proposed: a practical book of good addresses and advice visit, and a binder with hiking sheets (plsu of 35 routes tested for you;)
Bed linen, towels, cleaning, organic breakfast, tourist tax are included in the price.
In order not to harm bees, waves are not allowed in the tiny house: no internet or mobile phone. But you have internet access at the reception if needed.

Ty Coed (ecological geodesic dome): 100€ for 2 adults. Ty Dana (safari tent): 50€ for 2 adults. Other accommodation : Ty gwenan (tiny house): €100 per night for 2 people. Chambre Airmeth (1st floor in stone house): 55€ for 2 people. Chambre Hildegarde (duplex with separate entrance in longère): €70 for 2 people. Catering (organic producer meals, catered meals). Nordic bath €35 per session. Animations : Baptism in beekeeping (reserved for visitors in accommodation only), Petit Ecologue. Auprès de mon âne and Fermier en herbe.
Owner's Message
For 10 years, our family farm La Fontaine Airmeth in organic beekeeping is dedicated to bees and ecology, and also to Celtic legends. Our missions: the production and sale of organic honey and bee products, the ecological tourist reception (unusual accommodation, animations, events), and education outside the farm (schools, leisure centers, fairs, thematic events). Our hamlet is composed of charming stone houses 1800' and is located in the heart of Brittany in the town of Ploërdut (labeled common rural heritage of Brittany).
We offer in connection with our accommodations, initiations to beekeeping, for the purpose of discovery, exchange and pedagogy.
In 2024, we will strengthen our missions of saving biodiversity and transmission to any public by setting up participatory science sessions (in contributions to monitoring programs and inventories of the National Museum of Natural History among others). And as for unusual accommodations, new surprises will soon open for the summer!

Nordic bath
A moment of outdoor relaxation in a wood-fired bath (photo non-contractual - the Nordic bath area was positively modified in March 2024)
The bath is located in a ruin of stone and vegetation, at the entrance to the hamlet near the reception area. The area is private and not overlooked (curtains can also close off the space for greater privacy).
The water is heated to between 38 and 40°C by a secure outdoor wood-burning stove, and filtered by an external recycled glass sand filter. No chemicals are used (the water is treated with active oxygen, which leaves no residue in the water).
The session costs 35€ (1 to 4 adults possible). Not recommended for children under 13.
Bathrobes provided. Essential oils and floral waters can be added on request.
It's best to do the Nordic bath at nightfall, to better appreciate the natural ambience and starry sky (no light pollution here).
