L'ATELIER DU VIEUX BOURG
Atelier du Vieux Bourg is a designer and manufacturer of eyeglass cords installed in Brittany since about forty years. It is one of the three manufacturers of eyeglass cords installed in France. A member of the association, its products are labelled Product in Brittany.
History. L'Atelier du Vieux Bourg was created in 1978 by M. Mouillé, a former L'Oréal salesman, in the small village of Taupont, near Ploërmel, where the small company eventually established itself. Mireille Picard-Sauvage, formerly employed by the company, took over the company in 2008. Three years later, she moved to new buildings in the business park of the Lande du Moulin de Ploërmel.
The products. L'Atelier du Vieux Bourg manufactures eyeglass chains, "classic", "sport", "child" eyeglass cords made of leather or elastic, cotton or acetate, but also "couture" cords that look like real jewellery, and also jewellery necklaces. The company has a total of 70 references, or 260,000 parts per year.
