Museum presenting collections of natural sciences, and organizing visits to discover the history of the Brothers.
The Jean-Marie de La Mennais Museum is divided into several spaces. The arrival is done by the court and the wonderful astronomical clock, an educational tool created by the priest Jean-Marie de La Mennais to facilitate teaching to his pupils. The visit continues with the natural science area: an enriching lesson of things that this visit as a journey over time and around the world. The museum brings together the collections of natural sciences, dedicated to teaching, from the Institute of Brothers of the Christian Instruction. Then the visitor is invited to discover the history of the Brothers and the life of the founding father of this institute who participated in the creation of many schools in Brittany throughout the nineteenth century. The visit ends with the very beautiful chapel. Access to the garden is free: a haven of unsuspected peace in the heart of Ploërmel!
