This monument is one of the most beautiful samples of cross-panels, calvaries carved on its four sides, typical of this part of Brittany. It has three floors of sculptures. On the north-south base, six scenes from Christ's life are displayed (the arrest of Christ or the kiss of Judas, flogging, cross-bearing, crucifixion, descent to Hell and Ascension) and on the barrel you will discover four motifs representing Saint Peter, Saint Paul, Saint John the Baptist and Saint James. This calvary would be the only one in Brittany to symbolize the passion and Ascension of Christ. The nearby church is open during the day.

Le Calvaire 56220 Rochefort-En-Terre
Situé devant la Collégiale Notre-Dame-De-La-Tronchaye à Rochefort-En-Terre, le Calvaire est parfaitement sculpté et sur toutes ses faces : il est réellement magnifique. Il reste très émouvant, avec tous ces détails, même si certaines motifs ont été un peu abîmés avec le temps. A voir !

A ne pas rater lorsque l'on se trouve près de l'église Notre Dame de la Tronchaye puisque situé sur la place, ce calvaire, vraiment très beau, qui est un spécimen des "croix panneaux" que l'on trouve dans cette région. Il présente sur trois étages de sculptures notamment des scènes de la passion.
