THE FORGES OF THE HALLS
Site presenting a remarkable testimony of the past of Brittany in the and centuries in Sainte-Brigitte.
Near the lake of Guerlédan, in the heart of the forest of Quénécan, the iron and steel village of the Forges des Salles appears in a green and rather steep setting. It presents a remarkable testimony of Brittany's past in the 18th and 19th centuries. Around the house of the forge master and its terraced gardens, are grouped the Blacksmiths' Row, the workshops, the blast furnace, the school, the chapel, the forge, the pay office, refurbished in the old fashioned way. A video room, models and exhibitions explain how it works.
Smart: You can also book a night in one of the seven "Unusual Lodgings" in Quénécan, at the top of a tree, or on the edge of a pond. Information and bookings on : 06 19 60 55 10 or 02 96 24 94 85 and by mail at : [email protected].
