CIDRES NICOL
In this farm, exceptionally, installed, in the peninsula of Rhuys and the Gulf of Morbihan, three generations of Nicol have, to date, succeeded each other since 1928. Without departing from tradition, they take turns, without respite, to perpetuate the family know-how. There was André, the founder, then Jean, his nephew, who undertook the meticulous selection of local varieties (Guillevic, Douce Moën, Peau de chien...) for the elaboration of his cider. And here are his sons, Didier and Jean-Michel. In their turn, they took over the torch with the same concern to continue the work begun. From 400 to 500 tons of apples are now brewed each autumn, half from the 13 hectares of orchard and the other half from farms in the south of Morbihan. A union which restores, thus, the best vintage of the soil, the strongest rate of sunshine and the weakest rainfall of Brittany giving to the apples their richness in sugar and to the finished product of delicious and hot savours. The Nicol family's artisanal cider is stamped IGP Brittany and whatever its nature, raw, fruity or sweet, it has won many times at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris. Of course, the "Guillevic", queen of Morbihan, also has the star here and it is with pleasure that we will make you taste the famous "Royal Guillevic" red label crémant. For apple juice lovers, there is also something here for small and big thirsts. If you are passing through this beautiful region, this is a must.
