Saint-Pierre Cathedral in Vannes, with a wide variety of styles and transformations from the to the century.

It took the offerings of pilgrims from all over Europe to gather on the tomb of Saint Vincent Ferrier - a Spanish Dominican priest whose statue welcomes visitors at the gates of the cathedral, asked in 1418 by Duke John V of Brittany to revive the Breton faith - and the indulgences of four popes to allow the construction of the building. Originally built on the site of its Romanesque counterpart, it offers a great diversity of styles (Romanesque, neo-Gothic, Renaissance), the result of its numerous transformations from the 15th to the 19th century.

A lovely little cathedral with a very long history. A lot of work is being put into restoration and it is clearly a living parish church. There are helpful signs posted indicating useful and interesting facts, often in multiple languages. I enjoyed my visit.
