The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Vannes focuses on contemporary art and presents temporary exhibitions.

Founded in 1982, La Cohue, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Vannes, has been presenting temporary exhibitions featuring major artistic figures for over 30 years. The permanent section features works from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including Eugène Delacroix's Christ on the Cross . The second floor is devoted to paintings by Geneviève Asse (1923-2021), a painter and printmaker. An online portal provides access to the collections.

Lieu visité en octobre 2023 où vous pouviez voir 3 expositions: G. Asse; Otero; la collection permanente. La collection permanente correspond à ce qu'on attend d'un musée d'une ville moyenne de province; elle présente toutefois des pièces d'un grand intérêt. L'exposition OTERO était extraordinaire: bravo à la programmation et je le précise ici pour que des curieux aillent rechercher qui est ce grand artiste.
Le bâtiment est aussi une petite curiosité...

Beau batiment, quelques huiles trés colorées entourent un Delacroix bien expliqué. Ne ratez pas les oeuvres de Salomé Fauc dans l entrée, elles ont emporté mes suffrages

Musée intéressant ayant le privilège de détenir un Delacroix, un étage entier pour Geneviève Asse au premier et en bas une pluralité d'ouvres qui aurait méritées plus de place.

Le fonds de l'exposition permanente est très léger. Tout dépend donc des expositions temporaires. Celle actuellement sur Otero est très intéressante ( documentation fournie, mise en exposition un peu chargée mais recherchée).
