After several years of study in England and experienced various experiences in workshops, Ugo Janer moved to Bourges following a maker who retired. In his workshop, he restores, manufactures, rents and sells violins, cellos, altos and basses. In his hands, ancient violins are reborn, as are broken cellos or tired bass. As a string lover, Ugo gives new youth to all these instruments without removing their souls. Equipped with tools similar to those of a dentist, he works at the tenth of a millimetre near without touching the integrity of the instrument: restoration must be discreet. He also made his own violins in collaboration with the musicians. Based on spruce, maple and ebony wood, the instrument will be painted after a month of tireless work, a home painted that Ugo is careful to give the recipe! This workshop is a boon to the city of Bourges, which has many music schools and many players of stringed instruments. Ugo is the only maker of the city. A charming and surprising boutique in the heart of the historic Centre of Bourges.
