Located at a quarter of an hour's drive from Sancerre, the Chapotons Farm is part of these stopovers that are recommended for your eyes closed. We are very well received and between the cheese shop, the visit of the winery and the tasting of Sancerre wines produced in the field, the address is only fun, generosity and greedy. Some 180 goats have existed since 1986. For over 25 years, the good goat milk of the farm has made it possible to manufacture the legendary crottin of Chavignol on site. La Ferme des Chapotons offers several refinements of Chavignol, but also other farm cheeses such as Pyramid, Berry-coeur, butterfly chapotone and small aperitif goats. What is more natural for Franck and Sylvain, the two brothers at the head of the farm, than to embark on the production of Sancerre to accompany their treasure of Chavignol wonderfully! The first harvest took place in 2002. Now, the 3 hectares of vineyards make it possible to produce two white Sancerre - the tradition and the cuvée of the Monts Damnés - a red and a rosé. Furthermore, the tasting room is very friendly. Please note: the farm has a camping area. The parenthesis in the heart of the land closes but you will leave with a basket of good specialties from the farm and Berry and the sensation of having tasted something that looks like authentic, seriously!
