The Collegiate Church of Domfessel is a magnificent Gothic fortified building built in the first half of the 14th century. The watchman's chamber is located on the third level of the tower. The majestic, solemn interior is an invitation to meditation. The surrounding wall, interrupted by a single-storey porch, encircles the church, even though it is no longer as high as it once was. An organ, indispensable in a Protestant place of worship, was added in the 19th century, and an 18th-century wooden pulpit features carved animals symbolizing the four evangelists.
