SUZANNE RIPPE
Suzanne Rippe is a mosaic artist based in Sury-en-Vaux, in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. After training in antique and contemporary mosaic techniques with two master mosaicists, Suzanne Rippe embarked on a personal exploration in this field. She enjoys mixing materials when creating a mosaic (stone, glass mosaic, ceramics, etc.) and combining them with other forms such as wood, cement, etc. She then shapes the materials into tesserae, which she assembles to create the finished work. She also creates functional sculptures called "blocks", in which she seeks to combine the sculptural and the pictorial. Inspired by fossilized wood, she works within the material, letting herself be guided by its shape (grain, knots, cracks), thus incorporating another story into the material. Suzanne Rippe offers unique works, sculptures and paintings, as well as personalized decoration and design projects. She also participates in exhibitions and shows.
