When to go dans les Alpes ?

The climate of the Alps varies from one department to another, and according to the altitude. The Southern Alps have a Mediterranean climate: relatively mild temperatures and little precipitation in summer and winter. The Northern Alps have a continental mountain climate. Rainfall and snow cover are important. Above 3,000 m, a glacial microclimate forms. Temperatures are on average quite low (often negative in winter and below 20°C in summer).
