Companies such as Ryanair and Easyjet offer flights from France to Cagliari. The port of Cagliari is also an option for arriving in Pula, with Tirrenia crossings from Arbatax, Civitavecchia, Naples and Palermo. ARST buses also provide regular connections between Pula and the towns on the south-western coast. Once in Pula, you can stay in vacation villages, hotels, B&Bs or campsites. For a bite to eat, you can sample delicious giant pizzas at Sa Macinera or opt for quality cuisine at Machri. Pula is also renowned for its magnificent beaches, such as Nora beach and the beaches of Chia. The procession takes the statue of the risen Christ from the small church of San Francesco da Paola in the east of the town to the portal of the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in the heart of the old town. A long procession leaves from the fortified citadel to the nearby village of Tergu. Men dressed in white robes sing ancient hymns along the way. The pilgrimage covers 10 km to the ancient church of Nostra Signora, built around 1300. The return journey is made by the light of candles and oil lamps, in a very moving religious fervor.

The participants in the procession are divided into two clans. The Mamuthones wear sheepskin jackets and black wooden masks with marked features. To be caught with a lasso by an Issohadore is a good omen and a sign of fertility.
