LEMPESIS
Read moreYou should know that this tavern exists, hidden in the hotel. It is a traditional restaurant, once run by Stamatis' parents. Today, the latter provides the service while his wife Zampeta prepares the dishes. On the menu, particularly successful, we had: caper salad with onions, chickpea soup, rooster in wine and lamb in the oven. Organic vegetables are grown in family fields. They also raise their rabbits, lambs, chickens, sheep and pigs. Homemade desserts are delicious.
ROKA

A small, beautifully decorated and plant-rich inner courtyard - as well as some tables in an inner room, and others on a superb terrace with a view of the sea, ideal for sunset on the caldera. It is a good place to eat, the dishes are made with local produce but change a little from what is served in the taverns; there are pasta and risotto, but also many meat, fish and seafood dishes.
KRINAKI
Read moreThis is undoubtedly one of the best places on the island. In the quiet and relaxing village of Finikia, just behind the hustle and bustle of Oia, is this excellent traditional Greek taverna. And we insist on the traditional aspect, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a tasteful rustic decoration and above all a local and extremely tasty cuisine. Andreas, the young owner, makes a point of sourcing the best local products. The Imam Bayaldi (stuffed with aubergines) is simply exquisite.

ORAIA SIFNOS - LA BELLE SIFNOS
Read moreThis restaurant at the entrance to Apollonia offers its customers typical Greek dishes, grilled meats and pizzas. While the menu is extensive, the products are fresh, of good quality and the service is authentic, as is the tavern's almost kitsch interior decoration. If you come here, it's not just for the traditional, home-style cuisine, it's also and above all for the exceptional view from the terrace and garden of beautiful Sifnos under the vine-covered arbour, with a small glass of house wine in hand.
TSIKALI
Read moreTrust the Sifniotes: here's the best traditional taverna on Sifnos, with its feet in the water, its chairs planted in the sand, and its people lounging in the shade of the tamarisk trees on Vathi beach. Here you'll find all the classic dishes of Greek tavernas, but prepared here with the finest produce and respect for ancient recipes. The family also owns a farm above the restaurant, in the mountains, from which they produce - rarely seen - their excellent meat and three types of 100% Sifniote goat's cheese.
SKALA
Read moreSkala is a nice restaurant, set in a soothing environment. The staff is attentive, the Greek cuisine is of very good quality and served with a nice effort of presentation. All the classics are there: moussaka, salads, meats, and a great deal of fish and seafood. A selection of local wines is also featured, in particular those of the renowned Domaine Sigalas, based in Oia. Busy contemplating your plate, you will soon forget that there is no particular view. Remember to make a reservation though.
MAIOLICA

Diversified and sunny, the menu changes regularly according to the fresh products available. O SIMOS
Read moreSince 1958 and three generations ago, Simos has been the place to come for fresh fish caught every morning in the waters around the island. The à la carte menu includes fresh squid from September to June. The waiters are friendly and give good recommendations. Some meats are local and come from the family farm. Mastelo and chickpea soup are other Sifnos specialties. The good news is that prices here have remained reasonable despite inflation.
MIKROS APOPLOUS
Read moreOne of the best fish restaurants on the island. We recommend the fresh fish, caught in the morning, roe fish, ceviche and cuttlefish for four dishes that stand out. The seafood pasta is also exceptional. Case in point: a fresh sea bass, caught on the day and prepared before our eyes with delicious steamed vegetables. Simple and good. Here, the cuisine is a little more refined, with the option of simply grilled fish, to preserve the flavours of the sea. A pleasant setting and good wines to accompany a successful meal.
O YIALOS
Read moreThere is nothing very sophisticated, but there are good traditional dishes in generous portions and at competitive prices. The location is worth it: We have the feet in the sand and we have lunch facing the sea. The staff knows how to make the guests feel at ease.

TO STEKI TOU PROEDROU
Read moreThe restaurant's name means "the president's place": indeed, Theodoros' father was mayor of the village of Ano Mera. Offering authentic Myconian cuisine, the dishes are simple and the quality of the many local products used is all the more evident. Choose from pasta, grilled meats or the President's burger, which we highly recommend sitting on the terrace in the charming, lively village square of Ano Mera, after a day in tumultuous Chora or before another wild night in the south of the island.
TYPOGRAFIO
Read moreIt's aptly named. It is indeed in this former printing house (typografio in Greek) that the daily Foni Naxou-Parou ("The Voice of Naxos-Paros") was born in 1925, which has now disappeared. Spread over three modern terraces around a beautiful six-century old building, this restaurant is considered to be "the" reference to Naxos, a mixture of Hellenic and Mediterranean flavours. The menu is creative, based on regional products. Some waiters speak French. Very good wine list. Reservation recommended. Not to be missed!

GIORGAROS FISH TAVERN

Perfect, this family tavern offers an authentic, classic and very successful Greek cuisine. The ingredients are fresh and the fish is the catch of the day, unlike many restaurants in Fira. Moreover, the setting is particularly pleasant with a large terrace and a breathtaking view of the entire Caldeira. To top it all off, the prices on offer are particularly affordable.
LE BISTROT DE NICOLAS
Read moreAfter spending ten years in France in beautiful houses, 4-star hotels and other Relais & Châteaux with prestigious chefs, Nicolas Pelegrinis decided to return to the country. He has just taken over a nice establishment in Ano Mera where he proposes a very personal cuisine, 90% home-made and with seasonal products. On the menu: atypical dishes for Greece, such as his revisited bouillabaisse or his entrecote with pepper or Bearnaise sauce. All served with a very Greek generosity, in the plate as in the room.
