Every year since 1979, in November in Nantes, the Festival des 3 Continents offers fiction films and documentaries from Africa, Latin America and Asia. This international film festival, in addition to its geographical particularity, is also distinguished by its passion and curiosity, its taste for discovery and encounters, and overall its love of films from the South and its desire to share them. Founded by the Jalladeau brothers, this event brings together film professionals from all over the world and the informed or amateur public around competitions, previews, short and feature films, retrospectives... It is an opportunity for screenings, conferences, meetings with directors and actors. The selection also includes films for young audiences. For more than 60 years, the Floralies internationales have been transporting us with pleasure into an oversized floral universe. The 2019 edition was placed under the theme "Flowers to live", with creations and scenographies designed to highlight the link between flowers and man, throughout the major stages of life. Visitors stroll through the five halls of the Parc des Expos and the outdoor gardens to admire the work of plant artists: a delight for the eyes, but also an olfactory pleasure of the fragrances exhaled. Many competitions are also organized during these 12 days. In 2019, Naturya, a musical and floral comedy, was performed every night.

One of the biggest fairs in the Great West! Intended for the general public, the Nantes International Fair brings together in one place, on a surface area of 66,000 m², an unprecedented range of products and services from more than 650 exhibitors, including retailers, craftsmen, artists and associations. For 10 days, this show will allow you to discover the different dedicated spaces, from the house and the environment (everything for the home, the garden, the verandas...), to local and world crafts, via leisure and well-being, including motorhomes; the essential gourmet pleasures with wines; regional and national gastronomy with themes; and finally the universe called Discoveries. The complex is punctuated by numerous activities, workshops, exhibitions and other demonstrations.

For two days, pop culture will take place at the Beaujoire Exhibition Center in Nantes! Art to Play is the entertainment fair par excellence, concerts, video games, Youtube. Particularly popular with video game and manga fans, it welcomes distinguished guests in this field. In preview: the latest releases from video game publishers. You will be able to meet mangakas, try your hand at cosplay, but also take the opportunity to play board games with friends or family. A major event in this field! A festival for children and their parents, for young and old, but a festival whose primary vocation is to offer shows of the highest quality, a criterion on which the directors Nicolas Marc and Cyrille Planson do not compromise. A festival for which culture from the youngest age is a real issue for society. At the Petits et grands festival, you can attend plays, dance shows, puppet shows, concerts, storytelling, circus... And this, from 6 months. Each family can find the cultural experience that suits them. A festival placed under the sign of the living spectacle, the pleasure and the awakening. And in this, a festival of public interest!

Every year, in December, Animal Expos is organized at the Beaujoire exhibition center in the north of Nantes. The exhibitions bring together 2,000 dogs, 500 cats and 1,500 farmyard animals. Confirmation sessions are organized, as well as obedience and agility competitions... It is an opportunity to admire beautiful animals and to discover breeds. Note: on June 3 and 4, Nantes also hosts an international dog show organized by the Société Centrale Canine. This event is coupled with the exhibition of the French championship of the Société Centrale Canine.

The Art Galleries Nantes association aims to make us discover or rediscover the universe of the various galleries of the City of Ducs and make the world of art accessible! The bet is won for the second year that had seen the Night of Galeries 2017 associate fifteen galleries to this generous project. The concept is relaxed and the event is free. It takes place in April. During your journey you will visit various open exhibition rooms from 8 p. m. to 1 a. m. You can discover live performances, watch poetry readings, watch multiple works and participate in interactive animations, make unusual guided tours, and meet artists. A trip in the nano-artistic nights not to miss!

In its race through France, the sports and Solidarity event Odyssea stops in Nantes in mid-March. The 2017 edition brought together 63 800 participants on the streets of the city of Dukes to run against breast cancer: the majority of the funds collected are indeed transferred to the Western Cancérologie Institute of Western René, as well as to the Loire-Atlantic Committee of the National League against Cancer. For the passion of the race on foot or for an act committed, put the trainers together and start to attack these 5 little kilometers!

Tariff: 10 € before the race, 12 € then.

Distance: 5 km, and 1 km child course.

Difficulty: easy to average.

Rendez-vous: course Saint-André in Nantes. Departures from 14 am to 16 pm.

Other practical information: any non-licensee shall have a medical certificate indicating the absence of a contraindication to the practice of the race on foot.
