RESTAURANT SALAS
Read moreIt is THE restaurant of Cajamarca, opened since 1947! This unmissable canteen of the city has its adepts and its detractors who find that too much is done. The vast room is not very cheerful, one must admit, but the crowd of boys in white aprons who are busy in all directions is to be seen. The cuisine is well done and offers a range of Peruvian dishes... generously served, but still very classic. The second more chic address at Jirón Cruz de Piedra 639, the Salas Tradicion, in the same spirit, but with a more modern room.
CASCANUEZ
Read moreGood food in a well-kept room, with smiling waiters and, at the end of the meal, the pleasure of tasting a delicious pastry accompanied by a good espresso. This cafeteria offers excellent value for money. Sandwiches, snacks, their real speciality are the creamy cakes, the chocolate and milk cream volcanoes and other tarts. In the evening, many locals come for a lonche, a sort of family snack-dinner. We recommend it as a way to gently slip into the local customs.
EL QUERUBINO PIZZA PASTA Y VINO
Read moreHalf a cuadra from the Plaza de Armas, this restaurant/cafétéria offers very good local cuisine and pasta dishes. Pizzas are not their strong point. Often, an Andean music group accompanies your dinner. Honest.
