PEE WEE’S AT THE POINT
Read moreOne of the best restaurants in the region for its cuisine but also for its setting. The colors of the sea contrast with the red flowers of the majestic flamboyant trees and the tropical greenery. The cuisine is modern but resolutely Top End, with its multicultural influences and local ingredients, including meat from cattle stations, seafood and Aboriginal bush foods. You can also come and have a drink on the terrace to enjoy the place. It is advisable to book during the dry season.
SHENANNIGANS

A must-try! One of the best-known addresses on Mitchell Street, Darwin's party street. Perfect for partying, with a good mix of backpackers and locals in a convivial atmosphere. As sometimes happens on Mitchell Street, the end of the evening can get a bit out of hand. Pub crawls often end at Monsoons or Lost Ark, open until 4am.

LANEWAY SPECIALTY COFFEE
Read moreLaneway is often cited as one of Darwin's best cafés. On the menu, classic Australian coffees, perfect for brunch. Modern, trendy decor. The service and food are excellent. The toilets at the back, however, leave something to be desired. Located in the heart of Parap, the place is nice on weekdays (especially the Outstation art gallery), but really comes alive on Saturdays when the market takes over the square. The Parap Market is often crowded, and is a great place to sample street food from around the world, for art and for clothes.
DARWIN SKI CLUB
Read moreThe perfect option for a simple and relaxed dinner! Typical Darwin atmosphere, unpretentious, but with very often a beautiful sunset. Very good for families too, with a large lawn, a playground and a pool for the afternoon. Live music from time to time. This is the water ski club; you have to put your name on the register when you are not a member, it may surprise you but it costs nothing. Located right next to MAGNT, the NT museum, so convenient for a pint or a snack after your visit.
RAPID CREEK MARKET
Read moreRarely visited by tourists, Darwin's markets nevertheless play an essential role in the lives of Darwinites, who buy their tropical fruit and vegetables here, often sold directly by the growers. There are street food specialities from all over the world. You can feel (and taste) the proximity of Southeast Asia. Try the green papaya salad, mango lassi or a Top End version of laska (spicy!), which has become a real local specialty. Bring cash with you. Parap Markets on Saturdays are also a must.
