Timetable

Most shops are open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 7pm. Please note, however, that some shops may close on Mondays and weekends. Shopping centres are open from 10 am to late in the evening (10 pm to midnight) every day, and even on Sunday for the majority.

Budget & Tips

Thanks to the Porto Card you will be entitled to discounts of up to 20% in many traditional souvenir shops.

Sales

Summer sales usually take place in July and winter sales in January. The periods are a little different from France and last longer.

What's very local

If you want to shop Portuguese style, you will have to experience the mall at least once. But if you're afraid of crowds, it's best not to. Otherwise you can go to the Bolhão market or the Bom Sucesso market. There are a multitude of stalls offering local and seasonal products.

Tourist traps

Avoid all shops that sell "made in China" souvenirs. They are easy to recognize because they all sell the same thing.
