The Day of the Dead, celebrated in Mexico with joy, is registered as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.

Day of the Dead is celebrated throughout Mexico. It is a very special event, distinguished from the Catholic Day of the Dead by its festive character. The families of the deceased build private altars covered with offerings: familiar objects of the deceased, typical dishes and alcohol, cempasúchil (Indian rose) flowers with yellow and orange petals. Festivities generally begin on October 31 and last until November 2. The Day of the Dead is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
