Tenerife is a prime destination for taking to the open seas and discovering wonders. The coastline is sublime, and some coves are only accessible by sea. Those with a sailing license, for example, can rent a sailboat. And those who don't can opt for a trip with a skipper, who will be sure to take them to hidden corners unknown to visitors. Some boat trips are also available for dolphin and whale watching. Several species of cetacean, such as the bottlenose dolphin and the short-finned pilot whale, live in the waters around Tenerife.
