HOUSE OF THE IRON BROTHERS AND THE PYRENEAN BAROQUE
Lovers of flamboyant, conspicuous, beautiful, walleye, glory and opulence can only bow to the absolute masters of Baroque art: the Ferrère brothers. Well before the hour of bling-bling, these genius designers marked their abundant creative madness in the religious buildings of France and in particular the High Pyrenees since they originated in Asté. Logically, a museum pays tribute to this exceptional dynasty, which had a workshop from 1647 to 1800. From John's naive beginnings to Dominique's aerial elegance passing through Marc's very theatre, formed in Versailles, this encounter is simply fascinating. The party of Rome, the current is unavoidable and these sculptors, accompanied by carpenters and doctors, have marked history with a rare brio seen. The altarpieces are pure jewels, tabernacles, canopies and baptismal fonts are works that you will find difficult to detach you so much. Through the permanent exhibition, you will discover all the facets and we strongly advise you to take part in walks which will take you from village to village admiring these vestiges of a bygone glory.
