Abidjan

Steps: Parc National Du Banco

Visit the Banco National Park for a hike, the green lung of the city or go to Boulay Island for a day of relaxation and swimming. Enjoy the Ivorian nights in the maquis of Cocody or in Zone 4 in Marcory.

Yamoussoukro

Mosquée de Bouaké.

Steps: Lac De Kossou

Direction Yamoussoukro. Visit of the basilica, the great mosque, the lake with sacred crocodiles, the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for peace, the Kossou dam...

Places of interest : BARRAGE DE KOSSOU

Bouaké

Village sénoufo vers Katiola.

Steps: Bouaké

En route to the rebel capital of central Côte d'Ivoire, , the country's second-largest city and the presumed tomb of the mythical Baule queen Abla Pokou.

Katiola, Tortiya and Korhogo

Steps: Tortiya

Direction Katiola and its famous potters, Tortiya the diamond one if you have time, before leaving towards the sahelian Korhogo. The road will be long and chaotic.

Senoufo culture

Ici la nature a repris ses droits, conférant à la ville et ses bâtiments un côté

Steps: Niofoin

Discover the Senoufo capital and its constellation of artisan villages (Waraniéné, a village of weavers and its sacred rock; the pearl makers of Kapélé; the canvas painters of Fakaha; the shea butter makers of Natio; the blacksmiths of Koni; Niofoin and its fetish huts...).

Route de l'Ouest

Steps: Man

Take the western route to the Dix-Huit Montagnes region around Man. Allow a day's drive via Odienné.

Day 8

Yacouba Culture

Plan an excursion into the gentle rolling woodlands to climb mountains, cross waterfalls and liana bridges, and discover the Yacouba culture.

Cocoa route

Steps: Gagnoa

Then head south, for a day on the "cocoa road" through Gagnoa and Soubré, to discover the cocoa plantations (Gagnoa) and the superb Nawa waterfalls flowing in a setting of lush vegetation (Soubré).

Places of interest : LES CHUTES DE LA NAWA

The coast

Steps: San Pedro

Join the coast at last: San Pedro, Grand-Béréby... in itself, the musicality of these names already evokes escape.

Day 11

Siren's Bay

Une vue panoramique de Man. Quelque chose d'une estampe...

Beautiful beaches such as Baie des Sirènes await you to unwind after so much savannah and driving.

Taï National Park

Forêt de palmiers, Jacqueville.

Steps: Man

From San Pedro via Djorotrou or from Guiglo via Douékoué (in the latter case, plan this excursion just after Man and before Gagnoa in the itinerary), it's possible to get to the Taï National Park, a Unesco World Heritage site known for its rich natural chimpanzee flora. Be sure to mark out your route, as Western Côte d'Ivoire has always been and remains a complex region to access.

Coastal road

Steps: Jacqueville

Back east via the coastal road through Grand Lahou, Jacqueville, Dabou to Grand-Bassam.

Day 14

Grand-Bassam

Assinie Mafia : coucher de soleil côté plage.

Visit the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's easy to spend a whole day marvelling at the old colonial buildings of the France quarter, a veritable open-air museum, but it would be a shame to miss out on the pleasures of the beach and its string of hotel-restaurants, not to mention the pirogue rides on the lagoon. And last but not least, the effervescent Bassam by night, with its lively local scene.

Assinie

Steps: Assinie

Last but not least, here you are in Assinie, some sixty kilometers further on. Long sandy beaches, bordered on one side by the lagoon and on the other by a jealous and exclusive sea, in a heavenly setting. Here, everything is possible: lounging under coconut palms, long walks along the beach.
