We are heading to the production area of Cahors wine, which has had an AOC since the 1970s. We suggest you start with a tasting at the Villa Malbec in Cahors, the showcase of the AOC, to understand the complexity of the wines of the appellation. Then, you can opt for a visit to one of the great names of Cahors: Lagrezette, Vigouroux, Chambert or Eugénie. We advise you to choose one of these four great names and then complete your visit with a smaller estate. Indeed, Cahors is as much about the big estates as it is about more confidential productions. The future of Cahors is also at stake behind the small estates with the younger generation, perhaps more playful and less conventional. We suggest two estates: Clos d'Audhuy with Benoît Aymard and Lacombe-La-Serre with Julien Ilbert.
