Arrival in Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville. Take your first steps in the bustling city, visiting the old colonial center, the red-brick Notre-Dame Cathedral and the central post office, whose steel structure was designed by Eiffel. Stroll along Rue Dông Khoi (formerly Rue Catinat), the city's main thoroughfare, and around the Municipal Theatre. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the busy, mysterious atmosphere of Cholon (the big market), the Chinese city. Visit the Binh Tây market, the heart of Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville, and the Phuoc An Hoi Quan pagoda.

Religious Fervor
Steps: Cu Chi
Start to the aurora. A hundred kilometers from Ho-Chi-Minh City (3 hours drive), excursion to Tây Ninh, seat of the great temple of Cao Dai. Built between 1933 and 1955, this is an astonishing architectural mix where there are pieces of pagodas, cathedrals, Bavarian castles... North-east of the city, ascent of the black lady's mountain (Nui Ba Den) overlooking the plain and visiting the pagoda. from Linh Son and Lang Cham. On the road to return to Ho Chi-Minh-Ville, stop at Cu Chi to crawl into an impressive underground network, remnants of the guerrilla tactics that the South Vietnamese resistance groups opposed the US operations of Search and Destroy.

The Mekong Delta

Drive through the landscapes of the delta. In My Tho, a farm, with a very particular speciality, can be visited: it is dedicated to the breeding of snakes, such as cobras and pythons... From the pier of My Tho, one can reach an island where there are splendid traditional houses, built in wood of lim. This is an opportunity to taste the profusion of fruits provided by the orchards of the delta: pineapples, longans, mangoes, coconuts... in Sadec, on the river bank, where Marguerite Duras lived. Night in Vinh Long (136 km from Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville).
The Mekong Delta (continued)
Mekong Cruise - Ho Chi Minh City. From dawn, visit the large floating market of Cai Be. The atmosphere, the shimmers of the colors in the morning sun and the life of the river are an enchantment. The cruise continues on the Mekong, punctuated by steps along the banks surrounded by orchid farms and fruit trees gardens. Return to Ho Chi Minh City late in the afternoon.

Back in Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville, visit the War Memories Museum, dedicated to the atrocities of the American war. To the east of the city, the temple of General Lê Van Duyêt, who served Emperor Gia Long, founder of the Nguyên dynasty, ensures a more peaceful atmosphere. A visit to the Reunification Palace provides an insight into the city's recent history. Afterwards, stroll along the quays of the Saigon River. While sipping a drink, the terraces of the legendary Caravelle, Continental and Rex hotels offer a unique view of the city at sunset. But even at night, Saigon keeps up its frenetic pace.
