Hanoi-Hoa Lu
Steps: Tam Côc
Early departure. Around 100 km from Hanoi, Hoa Lu, former capital of the Dai Viêt in the 10th century, is nicknamed the terrestrial Halong Bay. Ghostly rocky peaks emerge from the rice paddies. A trip to Hoa Lu is an opportunity to discover a region rich in historical vestiges, the cradle of the Vietnamese people. It's also an opportunity to get close to peasant life and to explore splendid landscapes on foot, by climbing the steps leading to a pagoda nestled in the rock, or by boat, carried by a river winding through the countryside. Overnight at a hotel in Tam Coc, in the heart of landlocked Halong Bay.
Early departure to arrive in Hạ Long around 11:30 a.m
Board the junk for a 3-day, 2-night cruise to Bai Tu Long Bay, less crowded and wilder than Hạ Long Bay. The day is punctuated by stops devoted to swimming or kayak exploration. Overnight on the junk.
Continuation of the cruise
Visit of floating villages. Exploration of caves and bathing in coves. Kayak output. Night on the junk.
Bye bye Halong!
Last swims and visits to fishing villages before returning to port. End of cruise and return to Hanoi in the late afternoon (approx. 4-hour drive). Performance at the Water Puppet Theater.
