How to get there - Tinghir
Smooth start
Settle down in Marrakech and take your first steps quietly by taking the temperature of the city. The scents and the animation of the souk, the imperial architecture, the snake charmers... everything contributes to a smooth change of scenery!
Visit Marrakech
Get to the heart of the matter with the Bahia Palace, Ménara and Majorelle gardens, then stroll around Jemâa el-Fna square. Spend the rest of the day exploring the souks, which cover more than 20 hectares and offer a permanent spectacle. Don't miss the Jewish quarter of the Medina!
Through the High Atlas
Start your day early to cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass before the hottest hour, then visit the UNESCO-listed ksar of Aït Ben Haddou. Later in the day, you'll cross the Tinfoultoute ksar before arriving in Ouarzazate. A day's drive through splendid scenery!
Along the gorges
Steps: Merzouga
Take the road again and visit the Dades valley and the Todra gorges. The Dades wadi feeds a series of oases where gardens, rose gardens and palm groves are all jewels in this desert landscape. You can see the superb kasbahs, large fortified buildings, whose red ochre hues blend into the cliffs and the earth. In the evening, bivouac in Merzouga (4x4 recommended).
Hiking in Merzouga
Steps: Rissani
Take a break in the desert and stroll through the dunes. If you have some time and want to extend this tour, this region is really ideal for a 4WD hike, over 4-5 days. Let yourself be enchanted by the largest dunes of southern Morocco, the villages and oases with remarkable kasbahs, such as Maati and Rissani.
To the imperial cities
Steps: Ifrane
Again a beautiful day of road during which you will cross successively the valley of Ziz and its splendid palm plantations then Ifrane and its forest of cedars and finally the High Atlas. The amateurs of imposing landscapes will be served and you will have a very complete outline of the richness offered by the Moroccan nature.
Visit of Fez
Steps: Fès
Visit of Fez el-Bali, the main and oldest part of the medina of Fez. By walking the two main streets, Talaa Seghira (the small ascent) and Talaa Kebira (the big ascent), you will discover the monuments that make the richness of the city. Do not miss the Andalusian quarter and the Koranic school.
An archaeological treasure
Steps: Meknès
Leave Fez early in the morning to visit the site of Volubilis before the hot hours. Then go back down to Meknes, the most unknown of the imperial cities. Visit the medina, the souks and the great mosque, then the imperial city, the mausoleum of Moulay Ismaïl, the Agdal basin and the old monumental stables.
Places of interest : MAUSOLÉE DE MOULAY ISMAÏL BASSIN DE L'AGDAL
The crossing of the Rif
Steps: Chefchaouen
Visit Chefchaouen in the morning, certainly the most endearing stage of the Moroccan Rif with its cobbled streets and its tile roofs particularly out of place under these latitudes. You will spend the afternoon in Tetouan with its medieval-style medina before taking the coastal road to Tangier.
The north of Morocco
Steps: Casablanca
Visit the Kasbah of Tangier in the morning, then drive to Rabat where you will have lunch before going on a tour of the ramparts and exploring the Kasbah of Oudayas. At the end of the day, drive to Casablanca.
Places of interest : KASBAH DES OUDAYAS
From Casablanca to Essaouira
Steps: Casablanca
In half a day you will see the main attractions of Casablanca: the Hassan II mosque and the Habous district, the corniche, the old medina, the Houphouet-Boigny boulevard and its arcades sheltering craft stores. On the way toEssaouira, stop in El Jadida, the Moroccan "little Deauville" or in Oualidia, a more authentic fishing port. Arrive in Essaouira at the end of the day.
Places of interest : MOSQUÉE HASSAN II
The eternal Mogador
Steps: Essaouira
The wild coast ofEssaouira is certainly one of the most beautiful sights you will see in the country. Take the time to enjoy it fully. Again, Essaouira is a good starting point if you want to explore the area and do some hiking. In Essaouira, don't miss the old Portuguese batteries and the tour of the ramparts.
The Atlantic route
Steps: Taroudant
We continue with the seaside part of the stay by going to Agadir via Taroudant. You will quickly fall under the charm of the "little Marrakech" whose ramparts and gardens you will walk along. In the afternoon, you will reach Agadir, the largest seaside resort in Morocco. Enjoy the beach and swimming for a relaxing day.
