We put on costumes of the time in Jamestown, the site of the first permanent colony in America, founded in 1607 by Captain John Smith. A few feet away, the small port town of Yorktown was the scene of a decisive battle of the War of Independence for the American insurgents.
Virginia Beach

Enjoy a walk along the coast to Virginia Beach. Cape Henry Memorial is located at the location of the first British settlers who founded the colony of Jamestown. The site also pays tribute to Admiral de Grasse, a French hero of the naval battle of Chesapeake Bay, an important prelude to the victory of Yorktown. The long Beach of Virginia Beach will be perfect for a swim in the afternoon.
