How to get there - Papeete

The island of Tahiti

Le marché de Papeete

Steps: Papeari

In order to get a better idea of the local atmosphere, a visit to the Papeete market is a must. Here souvenirs, fruits and local food are sold for modest prices. Papeete's city hall is also worth a visit for its architecture. The day continues in Arue, in front of the tomb of King Pomaré V, then at Kilometre Point (PK) 22, East coast, in front of the famous "trou du souffleur". These first discoveries end in the south of the island, at the magnificent H. Smith Botanical Garden (Motu Ovini).

The center of the island

Steps: Papeete

The second day remains far from the postcard image of French Polynesia as it is dedicated to the interior of the island: an eventful day in a 4x4 vehicle traveling the Tahitian cross-country road. After passing by the Pautona site and then by the Vaihiria lake, discover the Anapua and Farehape marae, then the Maroto waterfall. Other waterfalls are located further north, before reaching Papeete for a well-deserved night.

Day 3

Bora-Bora

No need to wait any longer to discover these dreamy landscapes that made you come to Polynesia. Almost 50 minutes of flight lead to the pearl of the Pacific, Bora-Bora. This island is famous for the majesty of its lagoon with its many blue shades and its lot of magnificent bungalows on stilts. Then indulge in one of your favorite activities: scuba diving, or observation of the lagoon in a semi-submersible. Moments of happiness that will remain engraved in your memory for a long time.

Day 4

Direction Maupiti

The morning starts early as you have to take the plane to reach the small island of Maupiti. This place, which has not been touched by mass tourism, has a lagoon that is probably as beautiful as Bora Bora's, and enjoys a much warmer welcome from its inhabitants. Have lunch in one of the guesthouses on a motu, and then cycle around the main island... Magical moments! The Maupiti Express will then take you back to Bora Bora island for a sweet night... but maybe you will be tempted by a stay in Maupiti itself?

Raiatea

Steps: Opoa

Only 15 minutes by plane and you are already in Raiatea. During this first day, rent a car and discover the splendor of the island. In the center is an agricultural and archaeological site, while in the east you will discover the Taputapuātea marae. Also, ask the locals to show you some private beaches, which are worth a few hours of walking.

Day 6

Tahaa, the vanilla island

A boat will pick you up at your hotel and you are off to discover Raiatea and Tahaa. The day begins with a visit to a pearl farm and a vanilla factory, followed by a snorkeling session near a majestic motu. A delicious lunch awaits you on another motu, near which you can put your feet in the water with stingrays. A last tour of Tahaa by boat, and back to the hotel.

Day 7

Huahine

Le marché de Papeete

The green of the vegetation and the blue of the lagoon give you the desire to discover an even more wild Polynesia? Welcome to Huahine. There are many activities on the island. It'll be hard to bother you. This island also offers numerous hiking opportunities.

Huahine/Return Papeete

Steps: Papeete

In Huahine, a pearl farm also offers the sale of beautiful pottery. His visit is certainly necessary. Then go to the river Eel. Young children will come to you for a few cents to buy a canned fish box that they will give to strong eels. A show that is cheap and very attractive. Do not forget to return to the plane for Papeete at the end of the afternoon!
