How to get there
The centre of Oslo
Steps: Oslo
Walking tour in the centre from the Opera House, from the top of which a first panoramic view of the city is possible. Continuation of the walk on Karl Johans gate. Visit of the Parliamentcathédrale, then direction the Royal Palace. The most curious will go to the National Gallery before taking the tram toMajorstua, to shop on Bogstadveien, the luxury street, and discover Vigeland Park. Tea or coffee break in Kulturhuset, one of the nicest places in the capital. Then we go down to Aker Brygge (visit the Nobel Peace Center), the City Hall. Lunch on the banks of the Fjord and continuation of the visit with the Akersus fortress and its museum of the Resistance. We will then return to Aker Brygge to continue on to Tjuvholmen to discover this new chic and upscale district of the capital. Visit the beautiful Astrup Fearnley Museum. An outing to the Stratos provides a splendid view of the city. Dinner on the terrace in one of the good restaurants in the area.

The new districts of the city
Steps: Oslo
To the east are Grönland and Grunerlokka, formerly working-class districts. Let's start with a morning walk in the botanical gardens musée d'Histoire naturelle before paying tribute to Edvard at the Munch Museum. We go down via Grønland to start a walk along the Ankerselva River. Its landscaped banks will take you to Grünerlokka. The streets of Thorval and Markveien are filled with the small cafés and trendy restaurants that have made the neighbourhood famous. From there, you can visit the brand new Pop Senteret, an interactive museum on Norwegian pop culture and its influence in the world. If it's Sunday, go to the Bla market, a large market of local and artisanal creations with jazz concerts in Grunerlokka. After this busy day, what better way to spend the evening than in the Mathalen food hall? It is a large covered market with food stalls from all over the world! The most gourmands will be able to choose the option restaurants, beautiful addresses around Mathalen.

Escapade in the nature

After walking the streets of Oslo, let's get some fresh air. Greenery is never far away, and the few minutes separating the city centre from the ski slopes show how nature has remained at the heart of culture. How nice! So let's start with a walk in the Ekerbergparken. A sculpture park from which the view of Oslo is breathtaking. On one side the wide open spaces, the fjord, and on the other side the city with the expanding Barcode. From there, choose between visiting Holmenkollen and Oslo Summer or Winter Park, where you can find the Fram and Kon Tiki museums that take you on a journey through space and time, immersing you in the world of great expeditions and the discovery of the North Pole. We will return to the centre to enjoy Oslo's best coffee at the Fuglen, before resting in front of a film at the Film Museum, where Norwegian films are shown. And why not finish this stay at the Magic Ice Bar, a new Ice Bar concept recently successfully introduced in the Norwegian capital.

Islands around Oslo

If the season permits, take the ferry and go to one of the islands of your choice. From the pier in front of the City Hall, or from the Forteresse fortress, ferries make the shuttle to serve the Oslo fjord. The island of Hovedoya is served by line 92 in only 5 minutes! This is the largest of the fjord islands. Its beaches and forests are superb. In the program, swimming, hiking, barbecue... a beautiful day in perspective!
In the land of Santa Claus

It's time to get out of Oslo for a while. By taking the ferry to Drøbak, we sink even deeper into the fjord before arriving in Santa's Norwegian village, whose house we will of course not hesitate to visit. You can also discover its wooden houses dating from the 19th century or its baroque church. It will be necessary to spend the night on the fortress island of Oscarsborg, which has been spectacularly converted into a hotel. On the way back, we can stop at Son, a charming little village that is now part of Vestby.
Fortified town of Fredrikstad
Direction Fredrikstad to meet a fortified walled town, the best preserved from all over Scandinavia. It is reached by ferry. Its cobbled streets, wooden and stone houses draw with its half-star moat a charming city with a beholder charm. Breakfast in the old town. Then discover the museums of the city, the Manoir manor and the fortress of Kongsten. The rest of the city is not quite interested, one day enough.
Cape Town's oldest city, Tonsberg
The city, which was a center of power and a great whaling station in the Middle Ages, today has a world reputation thanks to the Osebergskipet, this Viking boat found in the north and proof of this past. The historical center is pleasant and Tonsberg, which is now the tenth largest city in Norway, is rich in sports and cultural activities and accessible all year round.
Wild, town of Henrik Ibsen
His visit is interesting for the playwright's fans. Many of its houses have become museums and the streets of the city are named in homage to the artist. The city also attracts fishing, hiking or cultural festival!
Departure for Kristiansand
Museums, old town, typical market... There's a lot to see and do in Kristiansand. This is the fifth city in the country and the economic capital of southern Norway. There are so many possibilities in this city that we could stay there a few days. A show at Kilden, the visit of the Arts Center or the largest private gallery in the region, zoo and fish market. A visit to do absolutely!
Lillehammer, world capital of cross-country skiing and bobsleigh
Just two hours from the capital, this small town north of Lake Mjosa hosted the 1994 Olympic Games, which allowed it to develop new infrastructure! Lillehammer organizes many cultural events all year round, such as the Lillehamer Jazz Festival or the Literature Festival. In addition, there are several good places to eat.
